My Colby is Nine!

Happy Birthday Colby! He did such a great job in his cake. Actually it's more like one big sprinkle with a little cake underneath!
Celebrating Colby's special day with the Primary class at CBS at NorthPark Baptist. Sweet children!
Colby picked East Buffet Chinese restaurant for his birthday dinner. Same as last year! Our waitress was so sweet. She's going home to China for a visit next month and is very excited.
Bowling was lots of fun! Colby is as intent as his Daddy is on everything that is competitive! Meanwhile I could have used the gutter guards! Colby and Clay are going to have a double party sometime this summer, but today was so much fun even without a "party!"
Today on his birthday I'm reminded of that day in Callaway Gardens when I was just barely over the 12 wk. pregnant mark. Katie Lyn was still a BABY! I began to have complications with the pregnancy and had to go to the E.R. in LaGrange, GA. I was so scared I had lost the baby, but then the ultrasound showed a strong heartbeat and a little tiny moving baby. I knew then it was the Hand of God saving this baby and my faith was strengthened so much that day. Through weeks of bed rest I had a great peace that God was taking care of this baby. And on April 4th, 1998 Colby Dubose (named after my Daddy) Ferrill was born healthy and oh so happy! He has been such a joy ever since! My sweet, dimpled, sensitive gentleman. As I tell him, "I'm so glad God gave me you!"

Isn't it the coolest thing to see that God has put His hand on your children? Colby may not understand the magnitude of what happened when his life was spared, but giving him that blessing of testifying to God's work in his life will instill in him that God is miraculous.

Little boys are the sweetest things. Come to think of it, so are little girls......

If I had known it was your birthday I would have called you on the phone and sang Happy Birthday, but then you really don't want to hear me sing. Colby, you are such a special young man. I love to see you smile, you have such a joy in your heart. But then, so do all of your brothers and sisters. I have so enjoyed all the time we have spent making suckers for your trip to China. ETHEL

Happy b'day a little late from me! You share a b'day with my best friend, Kelly, who lives in Hattiesburg, MS (home of Brett Favre)...you knew I had to throw that in there!
