Little Cabin in the Woods....

What a Memorial Day weekend to remember! Two of my 4 sisters, Laura and Leigh, and their children and my parents all went to Percy Quin State Park in VERY SOUTH Mississippi. We attended my niece's graduation close by, and then we all converged upon the state park for some good family times. Our cabins were all right next to each other and they were so quaint! We're used to tent camping so this was like the Ritz Carlton for us!
Our beloved "Bessie". Our '96 Suburban rolled over 200,000 miles on this trip. We looked like the Grizwolds b/c our windows had to be rolled down the whole trip. Bessie's air compressor went out the day before we left. But nobody complained and God granted us travel mercies!
Now about all these bikes..what was that combination to the lock again? My nephews Pete and Ryan trying to figure out the combination.
My sister Leigh trying to figure out the combination...
Superman Park Ranger to the rescue with his bolt cutters to cut through the lock. YAY! He really was a man of "Steel" b/c his last name was Steele! How funny!
Major pillow fight in Leigh's cabin!
China, watch out! Here is my mother and traveling buddy, wearing her "I'm too sexy to be 70 shirt". She's actually 71! Go Granmart!

Each family had their own cabin, but we congregated at our back porch for meals...here are the cousins enjoying Rob's famous pancakes!
Rob disappeared at one point. Here is where we finally found him! What a relaxing weekend!
Sunset view from our cabin's back porch.
Here is my niece Mabry, the honor graduate! We pray for her Daddy (my bro-in-L) daily to be safe in Iraq!
I had such a relaxing time this weekend. No T.V., no internet, no email, no cell service. I LOVED IT and I NEEDED IT more than you know! Rob didn't even use his crackberry! I mean blackberry! :)

Yikes!! That alligator sign would have been enough for me! I'm so glad you had a relaxing weekend, I'll venture to guess next Memorial Day weekend won't be quite so relaxing but in a very good way. Thinking of you today... and wondering just how close your LOA is.....hmmmm
Love ya,

Wow, what a weekend. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. I love getting together with family like that. It is nice to get away from it all sometimes. I love the photo of your mom. That is too cute!

Wow...that looked SOOO fun! I love camping. Like you, we are use to "tenting it". Some of my kids fave vacations have been when we went camping together.

That to me looks a lot like the refreshment to the soul!! That cabin looks almost unreall. What a beautifull location.

You are so very blessed to have this family time together. Looks like so much fun for everyone.

GOtta love those SUVS they can go and go! I still love mine even though the gas situation here is something awful.

Any news on your three letters? (LOA)
