A Hard Thing To Do

I don't want to do it. I feel I will do this crying, kicking, screaming, and digging my heels in the dirt. I have put this off for too long. I have not done this since 2004. It is time. But why must I? Really? Is there some hidden law that it must be done? Sigh. I know I must. I will muster all the strength God has given me and I will accomplish this task. I will try not to dwell on the negative outcomes that usually come from attempting this feat. I will forget the times I have tried to do this thing on my own strength. I will ignore the clumps of hair that usually get pulled out of my own head by my own self when it's time to do this sort of thing. I will not put my expectations in the clouds so that I will not be disappointed.

I CAN do this.

I WILL do this.

And so will they.

Whether they like it or not.

It is time for the family portrait!

Can't wait to see the outcome - go ahead and shave your head - It's not gonna look good with clumps PULLED out! I think you'll still look great! Plus - I heard when you have kids - no one looks at you anyway! HA!

You had me worried for a minute, I thought maybe you were going to say that you were adopting 4 more children. No, I guess you wouldn't be pulling your hair out over that, that just comes natural to you. OK, I guess the family portait might give you cause for concern, but your family poses pretty darn good. And yes, in a year or so, you will have to go thru this all over again to include your new addition, heck might as well go ahead and adopt 2 at a time, then you won't have the dreaded family protrait every year.
Can't wait to see it. Love ya

I can't wait to see all of your beautiful family in one picture. Someday, I will be able to gather all of my own blessings and have a professional picture taken also.

Your pictures will be stunning!

I hear ya . . .and it gets really tough when you have to make sure that every single person's outfit looks good together . . . that darn MATCHING thing! Am I right?

Leave your hair alone okay? Musn't be clumpy for the pictures!

You can do it! Bribe, baby, bribe, it's all about the big treat at the end . . . after everyone gets the matching clothes on . . . listens to the photographer . . . and SMILES! Think ice cream--big ice cream . . with sprinkles . . . or cherries . . . or WHATEVER they want on top! I am not a briber, but when it comes to a family portrait (or shots) it's all about the bribe!!

Hey! Ugh, I feel you. I had one done to put in our Christmas card and it was a complete disaster! Lawson squirmed so much he lost buttons on his outfit, the ground was so wet the bench we were sitting on sank in the mud, everybody fought the whole time...why are they so awful?! Good luck!

This is funny! I really thought you were heading for an OB/GYN appt, and I was cringing for you!

I just read your previous post and want to add a big congratulations! Do you have a particular child in mind, or are you just making the plans to move ahead at this point? When we adopted our third little girl (7th child), we received some very wearisome looks from some of our friends, as if to say, "Are you going to be one of THOSE families?!" The funny thing is - these same people have become some of our biggest supporters.

I want to thank you very much for taking the time to send me the Jambalaya and the rice & beans recipes. I am anxious to try them, although I might have a little bit of difficulty finding certain things like the Trappey peppers. (We live too far north, and I have only seen Trappey Black-eyed peas on a few occasions, so I'm not sure about the peppers.) If anyone else is interested in trying them, feel free to visit my blog and copy them down. They are in the comment section under the bowling pictures!
