Survivor

Yep, that's what I am! I survived the family portrait! Points to remember for next time:

1. If it's the morning of a photo shoot, don't try to be Dr. Mom and cut the remaining stitches out of your 3 yr. old's repaired lip.
2. The rule 'don't pick the flowers' means nothing to a two year old.
3. Having a happy photographer who could easily work at Disney World is essential.
4. Bribery works well and is nothing to be ashamed about...thanks for that idea!
5. If putting flowers in her mouth is what your two year old wants to do, let her.
6. Spit is as efficient as hair gel in making your three year old's hair lie down.
7. Action shots are better than posed shots when you have six active focal points.
8. Telling older children not to fake smile makes the smile even more fake.
9. When you tell a toddler to look lady like, she thinks that means spread your legs and pull your dress up.
10. Diet Coke never tasted so good after a photo session.

Here's where you can view our pictures!

Let me know which ones you think are 'gotta haves'! (My fave is the one of Rob & kiddos!)

How can you choose any one of those precious pictures. I want them all.... What great shots Not a bad one in the bunch, I love the ones with Rob and the kids as well, but the ones of you with each of Kimmie and Quan are priceless. I love the ones of the kids around the water, too. Oh, heck, I just love 'em all. Love ya Ethel

All of the portraits are so beautiful! You would never know about all the sweat & tears that went into them!
I love the ones of all the children sitting on the rock steps. They just have the sweetest expressions on their faces. Also, the ones of you with the 2 little ones are just priceless. But they are all so gorgeous! I don't know how you are going to choose!!
I'm about to go and pick up a CD of our outdoor session done this past Friday. Might I add the rule, "stay out of everyone else's picture and wait your turn"?

Those are so good. I love the family shots on the big rock. Clay looks so serious. Ya'll are so precious. That Quan is adorable along with the rest of the kiddos. You and Rob aren't half bad either. I do also like the ones of Rob and the kids. I'm glad I don't have to decide for you, it's gonna be hard.
Love you guys!!

Oh, Laine how will you ever choose. I have several favorites. I do love the ones with Rob. The ones with you with the little ones. Soooo sweet. The individual ones of all of them are great. The older kids all looked like models. The family photos of you on the rocks, well you got some good ones too. I hope that photographer works up a great deal for you. You have way too many good ones. Oh, and there is one that you can really see their reflections when they are looking in the water.
Good Luck!

I LOVE the ones of the entire family on the big rock. Please Please Please get the ones of Kimmie and Quan laughing in the sibling pictures on the steps. I love Kimmie's little toes in her solo picture. And your oldest daughter--there is no denying she's a dancer--she is in arabesque in one of the pond shots!

I could go on and on. The one of Rob with the kids made me cry. It made me think of Proverbs 20:7-- It is a wonderful heritage to have an honest father. What a wonderful gift you have given your children in choosing a good man to be their father.

So pretty much, I think you're probably going to have to sell some lollipops to pay for all those pictures you need to buy. Now I want to get some pictures done.

Oh... and you could finish your Christmas shopping early too! (hint.hint.)

Would Dave consider this a use for the "emergency fund?" I think you're going to need it! The MUST haves...each individual child on the rock - they are precious and I didn't see any obviously fake smiles! One of the entire family on the rock (after all, it IS the FAMILY PORTRAIT), and at least one of all the children - between the lattice, on the steps, or on the grass in front of the flower hedge. Rob MUST have the picture of him with the children for Father's Day- the one of him looking at the camera is great, but the one of him looking at the children is LOVING! For your Mother's Day, I like the one of all of them RUNNING toward the gazebo - Quan in the lead! I agree with everyone else - they are all beautiful shots. Do they offer 90 days same as cash? ;-)

Why is that everyone always talks about a college fund? We need one for family pictures, and we should start saving when we're born. Oh, MY GOODNESS, Laine! You picked a winner for the photographer. It looks like they were taken in the Garden of Eden of a very blessed family. Thanks for sharing with us.

Laine,

Your photos are just stunning! It would be really difficult to choose. I love the family photo on the big rock, and the ones of you and K & Q, and the one of Rob and the kids, and the individual ones of the kids, and the ones of them looking into the water, and...and...and... See, I could never choose.

You know....Mother's Day is coming up. A great big package of those photos would be a great gift :-)

Good luck trying to decide!

My favorite is Rob and the kids too. I'm gonna have to copy that - when I get up to six kids - YIKES! BUT, the ones of you are really good and sweet too! Your kids are BEAUTIFUL - there's not a bad shot! I can't believe how big KL is - she's grown so much lately!

We had a guy come out to our house Tuesday to take pictures of Mary and I was a basket case - I was so stressed I had this burning sensation just running down my back. It was just pictures of a sleeping newborn - and then when we threw the other two in the mix I thought I was gonna go insane! So, I feel your pain and YAY - it's over!

Talk to you LATER!

Sorry... can't pick. They are all too cute. Makes me want to call and schedule a photo shoot right now. and then, I remember what happens to me on picture day. I become crazy momma. It is not good for anyone.

They are all too adorable! and I'm not lying, really. All of them. Good luck on picking.

What a beautiful family!

Laine,

BEAUTIFUL! Job well done . . . what was the bribe? It must have been really good, for that kind of cooperation! (No shame indeed, one does what one needs to do when it comes to picture day.)

Seriously the pictures are so sweet. I love the family picture on the Rock, perfect! Love the kids on the stone steps, with Kimmie and Quan cracking up. Rob surrounded by the kids, with Kimmie's head on daddy's shoulder . . . made me cry. And the ones of you alone with Kimmie and Quan, priceless.

Your kids did great-- look at all of the personality shining through . . . make that Jesus, shining through. The love within your family shines . . . and it is a sweet, sweet thing!

Blessings~

Those are great! I like the 1st one and the one of you guys together. And the one of the kids looking in the water! And...oh well, I like all of them, too! I hate having pictures made for that very reason--too hard to pick just one and if you get them all you wind up with a box full of pictures! LOL
