Behind

I am behind the times! All my friends at church are on this thing called "Facebook". HUH? I thought since I am blogging, I am high-tech and up with the times. Apparently not. Blogging is out. Facebook is in. But I cannot be "in", because did yall know I am married to Barney Fife? When I try to even take a little bitty peek at Facebook, a big dog jumps out of my computer screen and barks at me. It literally barks at me! And then a pop-up says that K-9 web protector is protecting me from visiting a volatile site.
So, that's okay. I'll just hang out here in my Izod shirt and Cheeno pants and penny loafers and be behind the times in my blog world.
And honestly, I'm thankful that Barney does such a good job protecting our family! He knows that if he let me on Facebook, I'd get nothing done! ;) And really, I love me some Barney Fife. I'm so glad he's my husband!
(Oh, and to answer some of you NOSEY NELLIES who wanted to know about the BRA in the post below...I'll let you figure it out. Here's a hint: it was a stay at home day. ;)--and by the way, I'm really sad I can't hula hoop anymore. When is the last time yall tried to do that? It is not like riding a bike. It's going to take some practice for me to learn again. Oh but I WILL learn, in a GOOD bra, don't you worry!
Love yall!

Laine,

You are probably doing the right thing staying off of FB. Tracy and I belong to FB addicts it is really sad how much time we send on it. BUT IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!!!
PS: the bra thing was a hoot, that is the first thing that comes off when I shut the front door behind me.

I think I too need to join FB anonymous. It is sad the amount of time I am on it but I agree with Amanda--It is so much fun!!! It is fun to catch up with old friends from high school!!
About the no bra thing--like I said before save it for the retreat!!!
Love you much!!

Well, my older kids won't allow me to have a facebook. And when I say they won't allow me to have one, I don't mean that they tell me what to do......it's just that they find it strange, weird, freaky, (insert any derogatory word here) for adults to have facebooks and friend their children and their children's friends.

So.....they have given me their passwords, and I can READ their facebooks. I think they fear that I would say things on their walls that would embarrass them. haha

Now, "Olivia" and "Mia" have facebooks and THEY "write" on their walls. And the older kids are fine with that.

It is amazing to me what kids will post on facebooks. You can certainly learn more than you want to know.....

Oh Laine,
I just stared on facebook and I'm also addicted. I have been talking to friends that I haven't seen in years. It is so much fun!
About the hula hoop thing I couldn't even do that when I was a kid.

FaceBook, ShmaceBook! Let's just keep blogging, or better yet talking on the telephone. Yes, Laine and I actually spend time talking on our LAND LINES!

Your Barney has also protected our family with the big bad dog, and I am so thankful! Hey, will you please drape a sweater around your Izod for me?
Lovin' livin' in the 80's!!!!

hi Laine, I am so glad you are blogging again:)
I love to hear your stories.
I tried fb for a day or two and found for me its too time consuming for a homeschool mommy. phew. I haven't been back on in months. Too much... I will be old fashioned and just stick with my blog if anyone wants to know what I am up to;)
Thank you for the tip on the missionary, I will be looking it up:)

But I have connected with SO many friends from high school, and college and my travel days. I would have never known how to connect with them. it's so fun to see their families and how they're doing now. I just LOVE IT!!! You should give it a try!!! All those other people in their chinnos and penny loafers are on there too!! :)

And the bra thing...HAAAAAA...you crack me up!!!! Love ya!

You are so funny! And BTW, in response to your last post, there really IS one thing funnier than a 38 year old mom trying to hula hoop, and that is a 50 year old mom trying! I am absolutely pathethic. I thought for sure I could teach my girls how to do it. (I'm cool! - lol) Think again! I am hanging up my hoop in shame.

Oh - I LOVE your new blog design. Tell me, though, how is it possible for someone to redesign your blog without you knowing about it? Can anyone do this?

Funny you mentioned FB...I was just searching for y'all the other day. Yes, I'm on it and I love it! It really is a fun way to keep up with silly (and sometimes serious) goings-on of our friends.OH well....it probably is a safer thing for you not to be one there; I don't think FB is in the cirriculum of ANY school yet! :)

As a kid I was fantastic with a hula hoop. I was a very skinny child. Now as an adult with lots of curves and bumps, I have found that I cannot turn the hoop more than 3 or 4 times around. But, I have found redemption in the Wi* Fit aerobics program. I have scored at the Professional level on the "virtual" hula hoop game. No hoop to hold up, just swing your hips and let your cartoon Mii worry about the hoop.
I love the new look to your blog. Happy Valentine's Day.
P S. Just FYI, although we have not updated much lately, we have opened comments on our blog. Hope you can stop by for a visit:)

Allright, I have to brag a bit - I WON a hula hoop contest at our last family reunion. How is THAT for an almost 40 year old?? Haha!!And I SO hear you on Facebook. I don't even want to go there - I spend so much time on the computer as is (work, blogs, school... you name it...)Just can't let myself go there for now!
Love, Barb

Facebook blows! It's not different than myspace and trust me, that gets old really fast! Blogging among the safety of friends is MUCH better. Kudos to Barney!
