Got Entertainment?

Baba had to make sure that the bed his son was sleeping in was comfortable enough...

Colby and Clay came to visit tonight and tried to get him to watch Elmo in Grouchland...

Shalita came to visit and discovered that Kevin could be half way entertained by her pics on her camera. She has now officially entered the bubble.

Kevin has had a pretty unhappy day, but I'd probably act the same if I were in his shoes. We've tried lots of things to entertain him but none last very long. We did get his first chuckle post-op with some boy humor... burping. His brothers were quick to supply all he needed for that. We did get to visit with our friends the Boyd's that we met in China and were so thrilled to see them and their precious Emma. And we also got a visit from my mom and my sister, thank you guys!

Please continue to pray his blood clot will dissolve or dissapate. The clot is in the upper leg/pelvis region. The nurse said we should specifically pray that his "INR is therapeutic". This has to do with the blood thinner being at the appropriate levels. They have to do frequent blood testing to verify this... more fun. Poor guy looks like a pin-cushion.

Thank you all for praying and especially those who have visited us in the hospital. It helps the time pass and also helps with the stir-craziness that tends to set in after awhile.

I'm so glad to see that you are having visitors. I know how much that helps when you are in the hospital. We will continue praying and I'm glad to have some specifics directly from the nurse to pray for. I can't wait to see that precious boy feeling GREAT and up and playing with his siblings like he should be. Take rest in the Father and in the promises of His word. I know you already do!! <><

love and hugs,

Did you ever think you would find yourself so thankful for burping boys? I'm glad they could make Kevin smile with their talents!

I'm praying, Laine and Rob, that his INR is theraputic!

You are all in our prayers. Praise God for visitors to be the diversions in our days of pain and boredom. Kevin is just a trooper and we can't wait to see his precious smile once again. Please know that we are praying without ceasing for healing. If there is anything you need or that we can do please do not hesitate to let me know.
Love you all

Sweet little man :(
We'll be praying that his "INR is theraputic", specifically!
Please keep us posted!

What is it about boys and burping? But I'm glad that it brought smiles...
I don't fully understand what "INR is therapeutic" means, but you better believe that I'm praying for it along with you!
Wish we could drop in and provide Kevin a bit of a diversion. I'm sure Caleb would find something in his bag of tricks.
Love to you all!

Laine, I am sorry I've not checked in this last week.

I read your post about thinking "this sucks" and I've been there.

I am so thankful the shunt has gone so well and he looks great from the other side of the computer screen.

I know you are probably at times thinking, "we have so far to go." Been there too. S had her 6th surgery (complete with hospital stay and 3 on her heart) since coming home 18 months ago on March 10. That sucks, but you know I'm thankful for having the doctors and hospitals we have to take her to and I know you are too.

Still it stinks and all we want is for them to be whole, to be well. And yet that is not going to happen unless God reaches down and makes their hearts whole. I don't often allow my mind to wander to many years ahead for S. I have learned a lot since becoming her Mommy, but one big thing I've learned is to REALLY enjoy the moment, like swinging with her today. I always enjoyed that with our healthy children, but it is different with her too. And different now with them too b/c we just never know. Health is such a gift, a blessing.

I don't even know what I'm trying to say. I understand where you are, except S was able to have her Fontan and not start with the shunt and Glenn. It was miraculous and I know that. I will continue to pray for you. Please email me if you need to talk. Also, I would be glad to talk by phone OR just listen. It sounds like you have a great support system already but I'm here if you need me to listen, cry with you, scream with you, whatever.

Sherri has my main email if you don't. Or you can also email me at

cljjs (at) yahoo (dot) com though sometimes I forget to check it!
