Wed Afternoon

Kevin had peaceful rest last night in the CICU. They kept him there to keep a closer watch on him because his breathing was a little abnormal after they drained the fluid from around his heart for the second time now. An additional issue we have now, the fluid they drained was cloudy so they feared infection. Turns out it does have bacteria in it so he's now on a strong antibiotic. They are determining now exactly what type of bacteria it is so they can be more specific on the type of antibiotic he gets.

His oxygen levels were down also yesterday after the fluid draining fun and so they kept him on some supplemental O2 overnight. He's off that now and maintaining his levels where they want him to be.

They moved us out of CICU this morning about 10:00 and back to a regular room on the floor. Some of the CICU nurses put together a Cinco de Mayo party for a few select patients and Kevin got invited. He got to go outside on the third floor patio and have a little Mexican food. It was fun for him and Laine REALLY liked being in the sunshine. What a glorious day it is outside... bright blue sky. How can anyone look at this marvelous creation all around us and not know there's a marvelous creator behind it? I was just about to get on my soap box but I'll stop there. If you are reading this and don't know who this creator might be or have questions about it... ask me. I would love to tell you about it! You can email me at (Of course, you'll need to change the "dot" and the "at" to the symbols).

We will continue to pray for your sweet little man, Kevin. We are praying that the infection clears up
"overnight" and in a way that can only be described as miraculous.
Blessings to you all,

Praying the infection will be kept at bay. There is a lot going on right now with precious Kevin, but not more than our mighty God can handle!
So glad that Laine and Kevin got the chance to enjoy the sunshine yesterday. Just a sweet reminder of how much our Father loves us...

Oh Ferrills,

You were heavy on my heart, so I knew I needed to head over here and see what's been going on. I'm SO sorry I've been out of touch lately. I've missed all of your recent posts this past week and just got caught up. Know that you will be in our prayers. We love that sweet Kevin and all of you. You have the most beautiful hearts and you are a wonderful example of what it means to live for Jesus! I love that you (Rob) take the opportunity to open the door to share about Jesus and His love whenever you can... Thank you for that! Because of people like you, I know I will have more brothers and sisters in Christ in Heaven one day!

Hang in there. We will continue lifting you up in prayer. I hope to see a great PRAISE report on here when we return from China... I will miss catching up on you over the next few weeks, but know you'll be in our thoughts!

Love and Hugs,
~Tanya Thom
