That was a sweet quote from my full of faith husband this morning!
Stevens Johnson syndrome is a reaction to the antibiotic Bactrim. It is a very serious medical condition. There is really no treatment, just hospitalization to watch closely for signs if the rash goes internal and affects organs. One of its main symptoms is a peeling rash. When we were in the cardiologist yesterday, Dr. Romp said to watch the rash for signs of peeling away.
This morning Kevin's rash is looking kind of "old". You know how a sunburn turns brown and patchy and peels? That's what Kevin's rash is beginning to look like. It's not peeling though, but it does look like its heading that way. That still doesn't mean Kevin has that syndrome. So today we are asking the Lord for DIVINE INTERVENTION. Kevin had a 101 temp at 5 a.m. this morning. (he has been laughing and playing with his siblings this morning though!) Dr. Romp said if he still had fever Thursday (that's tomorrow), he would need to be admitted.
Lord of Heaven and earth, YOU are what life is all about. No, we don't want to go back into the hospital, we don't want our son to be poked and prodded more, we don't want him to have ANY syndromes. God, this is not about what we want, it's really not about Kevin. It's about YOU. OUR SOVEREIGN MAKER. OUR ABBA FATHER. YOUR GLORY. Will you please, in your infinite mercy, show us your glory by healing Kevin of this rash and fever today? We ask this with humble hearts, remembering you say in your Word:
"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up." James 4:10
You are in control! We submit ourselves to your will today Lord. You know what's best. You LOVE US infinitely. We are all YOURS. And your timing is perfect, Lord. You see our little Kevin. You are dissolving his rind around his heart! We have seen evidence of your mighty works! Thank you Jesus for how you work everything for good (Romans 8:28), for how you are ALREADY working this out today. YOU are an incredible, amazing Father. We give you all glory and praise, in good times and hard times. You tell us to pray IN YOUR NAME--the Name above ALL names, the NAME that every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord...in your powerful Name, Jesus Christ we ask all these things, according to your will and purpose,
Amen and Amen!
