We had the sweet pleasure of meeting this precious *big* boy today. We have been waiting a long time to get the chance to meet him. Some years ago, my good friend Denise (who happens to be the Ferrill family personal hygenist-we love you Denise!) and my good friend Gina 'adopted' this handsome fella, Quentin. He has been as much a part of their families as their biological children are! Some day maybe I can share more of their story...it is a total GOD story...
But anyway, after praying for Quentin for years, we FINALLY got to meet him today! (it was teeth cleaning day for the Ferrills and Quentin and Denise's girls Holly and Molly came by!) To say that my children were *awestruck* is an understatement. After getting over Quentin's looming 6'6" stature, and the fact that he is a defensive end for the #1 college football team in America, they set about to initiate him into our family. His initiation consisted of having to throw boys into the air over and over and over and over and over and over. At one point he looked at me and said, "They don't want to stop!" Bless him. At least he will go back to spring training still fit as a fiddle, right? (seriously, Quentin has the sweetest spirit about him, he has a true love for children...a sweet blessing to see that playfulness and love in a college guy--God has given him a gift not only for playing football, but for loving kids unconditionally-he shines!)
Keith and Quan were particularly enamored. And now, Quentin I hope you don't mind, but Quan really wants a brother with a Q name, and you fit right in....so.....whatcha think, Quentin? Doesn't Quentin Ferrill have a nice ring? :)
We loved getting to visit with ALL of the Denhams today (Maddie we missed you!) I typically don't look forward to getting my teeth cleaned, but having Denise makes it ALL GOOD! Do yall have people in your life like that? Don't forget to thank them!!!!!
